Now, you may be wondering why we have included this recipe, as surely cooking mushrooms on toast is simple and easy? Well, yes, it is, however, we included this recipe as it is mushrooms on toast done our way. By cooking a few ingredients together, you can make (what we believe is) the best combination of mushrooms on toast. Most of the ingredients that you will need, you should be able to find in your cupboards or fridge already.

RECIPE

Makes: 2 slices

Time to Make: 10-15 minutes

INGREDIENTS

2-3 Handfuls Mushrooms
1-2 Garlic Cloves
A Small Drizzle Olive Oil
~1 tbsp Fresh Tarragon
1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
Salt & Pepper to Taste
2 Slices Sourdough Toast

METHOD

  1. Slice the mushrooms and add to a dry pan (no oil) over a medium heat. Cook until they are starting to turn golden and are stalling toasty

  2. Add a small drizzle of oil to the pan along with the finely chopped garlic cloves

  3. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is sizzling, then add the balsamic vinegar

  4. Keep cooking until most of the liquid has evaporated. Add the loosely torn tarragon leaves, stir to wilt then serve on thick slices of sourdough toast
